Proof GPS Camera Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to Proof GPS Camera, also referred to in the app as GPS Camera & Field Proof. It explains what data the app accesses, how that data is used, and what choices you have.
Proof GPS Camera is a camera app for capturing proof photos with visible location, timestamp, and device information rendered onto the saved image. The app is designed to work locally on your device, does not require an account, and does not include a sign-in flow.
Data the App Accesses
- Camera images used to capture proof photos
- Location data, including latitude, longitude, accuracy, altitude, and location service status
- Address text generated from your device location when reverse geocoding is available
- Date and time data used for the capture timestamp
- Device sensor data, including heading or compass direction, battery level, charging state, and barometric pressure when supported by the device
- Photo files and image storage used to save proof photos, show local history, open saved photos, delete history items, and save or read Gallery copies when supported by Android
- Watermark settings used to remember which proof fields you choose to show
How the App Uses Data
- Open the camera preview and capture photos
- Add selected proof details to saved images
- Show live GPS, timestamp, address, and device information before capture
- Create a map QR code when GPS coordinates are available
- Save proof photos in app storage and, when supported, to the device Gallery
- Display saved proof photos in local app history
- Let you share or delete saved proof photos
- Save your watermark field preferences locally
Local Storage
Proof photos are stored in the app's local documents storage. When supported by Android and device permissions, the app may also save a copy to the device Gallery album named GPS Camera & Field Proof. Watermark settings are stored locally in app support storage.
The app does not operate a cloud account or developer-hosted backend for storing your proof photos or settings.
Sharing
The app only shares a proof photo when you choose a share action from the app history or image viewer. Sharing is handled through the Android share sheet, and the destination app or service is selected by you.
Location and Address Data
Location data is used to show GPS coordinates, GPS accuracy, altitude, map QR code information, and related proof details on captured photos. Address text may be generated from your location when device and platform geocoding services provide it.
If location permission is not granted or location services are disabled, the app can still open the camera, but location-based proof fields may be unavailable.
Permissions
- Camera: required to capture proof photos
- Precise and approximate location: used to add GPS coordinates, accuracy, altitude, heading, address, and map reference information when available
- Photos, media, and storage: used to save proof photos, keep local app history, read saved images for display, and save or access Gallery copies when supported by Android
Data Collection and Third Parties
The app does not require account registration and does not send your proof photos, location data, or watermark settings to a developer-operated server. The app uses device and platform services, including Android system services and installed apps selected through the share sheet.
Data Retention and Deletion
Proof photos remain on your device until you delete them, uninstall the app, clear app data, or remove Gallery copies through your device's photo or file management tools. Deleting a photo from app history removes the app's local copy. If the image was also saved to the Gallery, the Gallery copy may remain and must be deleted separately.
Security
The app stores proof photos and settings locally using Android app storage and device storage features. Access to this data is controlled by Android, device permissions, and your device security settings.
Children's Privacy
The app is not designed to collect information from children. It does not include account registration or a developer-operated service for collecting user data.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the app's features, permissions, or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page should be updated when changes are made.
